Ayesha Takia back in Gali Gali
Unlike many other colleagues, the actress seems to be gearing up for a second run in Bollywood post marriage
In an industry where marriage is considered the end to an actress’s career, Ayesha Takia is ready for a second run. The actress, who recently finished Nagesh Kukunoor’s Mod, her first film after marriage, will now shoot with Akshaye Khanna for Rumy Jaffery’s next.
The film, titled Gali Gali Mein Chor Hai is a satire on corruption and is being produced by Nitin Manmohan, who had produced Yamla Pagla Deewana earlier this year.
“My film will have Akshaye Khanna and Ayesha Takia.
We are shooting from next month and it will be a fifty-day start to finish schedule in Bhopal. The name Gali Gali Mein Chor Hai points at the corruption that has seeped into every corner of the country,” says Jaffery.
Talking about his lead cast, the director says, “I wrote the characters keeping Akshaye and Ayesha in mind. While Akshaye plays a man who is a victim of corruption, Ayesha plays the wife who stands by him.
Jaffery adds, “The music of the movie is being composed by Anu Malik and one song of the movie has already been recorded.”
Interestingly before Ayesha’s marriage she had had acted with Akshaye in Shaadi Se Pehle, which also starred Mallika Sherawat.

Only Akshaye could have played the character! I share a great rapport with him as we previously worked together in Aa Ab Laut Chale. Also, Ayesha is a wonderful actress and has proven herself in films like Dor.”
